READ THIS BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON WHAT SHOES TO BUY

Dancing Shoes vs Street Shoes

Street shoes normally have rubber or solid leather soles which do not provide the kind of traction you need on the dance floor.

Our Dance shoes are ergonometric in design yet solidly constructed to take the pounding and spins of the dancer. Ballroom dance shoes have a thin sole which allows the dancer to feel the floor yet it is strong enough for free sliding and retain sufficient grip on the floor to promote balance and poise.

The Heels of Ballroom & Latin shoes are reinforced in order to support the weight and the pressure of the dancer on the floor.

Similarly Men Dancing shoes have greater flexibility to allow bending of the foot while at the same time ensuring strong grips and more comfort.

Ladies Latin Shoes vs Ballroom Shoes

Lady Latin shoes are higher in heel height and are open toed. Heel is usually thin and tall.
There are plenty of choices in design, colour, materials straps, heel height.

Practice shoes are more full-sized heel for stability and comfort. However, since our shoes are very strongly constructed, the tall heels of Latin shoes may be used for Ballroom dancing.
It is preferable to have straps across the top of the foot more better support.

Heel heights usually range from 1.5 inch to 3 inches high.

It is not recommended that Beginners or Senior Dancers wear shoes that are more than 2.5 inches high .

It is also not recommended for Dance shoes to be used as Street shoes

Differences btw Men Latin and Men Standard Shoes

The Difference is in the Heels. Standard Shoes normally have 1 inch heel and Latin shoes have 1 1/2 inches heel.

As usual Men shoe designs are quite simple and normally black (Shiny or Matt). However, for Street Latin dancers the shoes are a bit more flamboyant and are normally two toned.
